Position Summary

 

The WP Segment Specialist – Chain Accounts is responsible for executing sales and business development initiatives in the Chain Accounts segment to achieve sales and revenue goals.  

 

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Achieve client sales growth in accordance with company Client Team planning process
  • Call on assigned Chain Accounts to achieve sales and revenue goals
  • Achieve assigned call standards, priority account standards, volume assignments, placement assignments, task assignments and sales initiatives
  • Timely and accurately report all sales activity in appropriate systems
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with distribution National Account teams
  • Organize segment market shows
  • Communicate Chain Accounts plans and initiatives to the market
  • Coordinate sales initiatives with the market General Manager and/or Sales Manager
  • Plan sales calls to achieve client performance goals and initiatives
  • Respond timely to internal/external questions and information requests
  • Participate in food shows, market visits, client and industry meetings
  • Other duties, responsibilities and activities as assigned

This position does not have guidance or mentoring responsibilities for indirect reports

 

Travel and/or Driving Requirements

Travel and Driving are essential duties and function of this job 

Travel up to 40%

 

Minimum Qualifications

Education Level: (Required): Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience         

 

Field of Study/Area of Experience: Business, Business Administration, Marketing

3-5 years of experience in sales, sales management, business development or planning; experience working with multi-unit regional chains, brokers and national manufacturers

Environmental & Physical Requirements

 

Field / Administrative Requirements

Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Work may be performed in an office, field, retail store, or warehouse environment. Typically requires the ability to spend 66%+ hours each work day doing the following activities: engage in considerable physical activity, ability to lift and/or push up to 50 pounds, stand on feet for long periods of time, use products or cook food as appropriate for the demonstration, and may be required to work in extremely cold conditions (i.e. refrigerated and freezer sections). Also required to travel and drive. The use of proper safety practices when handling the products and/or cooking is essential.
